A group of 71 advertising and marketing graduates recently completed their mandatory month-long work experience module at the FCB Africa Group’s campuses in Johannesburg and Cape Town. Hailing from various tertiary institutions in Gauteng, and as far-flung as the North West, Limpopo, Free State, Eastern Cape and Lesotho, the graduates had the opportunity to observe, work, and experience the daily activities and routines of agency life. This period also gave FCB and its businesses the opportunity to assess and select the cohort of graduates to offer placement in the Class of 2019 of FCB Africa’s sough-after annual Graduate Programme. The 10-month Graduate Programme not only provides work experience and mentoring at the group’s various businesses – FCB Joburg, 1886, Weber Shandwick, Hellocomputer Joburg, Fuelcontent, FCB Cape Town and Hellocomputer Cape Town – it also incorporates a series of masterclasses, formal training and courses aimed at facilitating the graduates’ transition from the tertiary learning environment to the workplace.
